Mel Harrietha has enjoyed playing guitar, composing and singing since childhood. From these early roots as a “camp-fire” guitarist and playing in a local Cape Breton band, Mel went on to play with The Classics Four, The Chosen Few and The Unusuals, Mel’s passion for music has entertained and captivated people throughout a life-time of countless performances.

Playing a selection of genres from light rock, folk and easy listening, his music features a definitive Spanish styling.

From the inspiring accompaniment of wedding vows to lively festivals, from restaurants/bars to parties, Mel’s vast repertoire of music is perfect for listening, dancing, sing-along and background.

Mel is known to make children’s eyes twinkle with glee as they await Santa at Christmas functions.

Mel has busked the streets and entertained the people of Sarajevo, Milano, Trogir, San Francisco to name only a few. He has performed Toronto’s Harbourfront French Festival and other functions where his background playing has added that extra flare to gatherings.

Mel has been featured in documentaries on Omni Television and

has been interviewed extensively on local radio.
